Fill the Void
God can’t fill us if we are already full…
God is not going to pour his spirit into a dirty vessel
We have to make room for Him to pour out…
Matthew 12: 43-45
43 “When an evil[f]spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, seeking rest but finding none. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the person I came from.’ So it returns and finds its former home empty, swept, and in order. 45 Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before. That will be the experience of this evil generation.”
Ephesians 6:12 – 12 For we[d]are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
1. Empty ourselves…
2. Fill The Void…
That void has to be filled…
That time and space that was occupied by harmful things has to be replaced by good and Godly things…
1. Be Filled with the Holy Spirit…
2. Read the Word of God…
Matthew 4:4 – 4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.
Psalm 119: 11 & 105 – 11 I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. 105 Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
Fill that void with Gods word… it will guide your path… it will feed your soul… it will guard you from sin and it with protect you from the attacks of the enemy…
3. Pray…
1 Thessalonians 5:15-22 – 15 See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. 16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 19 Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. 20 Do not scoff at prophecies, 21 but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. 22 Stay away from every kind of evil.
Never stop praying…
If you want to fill that void that is left from the emptying process… never stop praying…
4. Serve…
There is nothing more fulfilling than serving…
Serving is at the core of who we are as followers of Jesus
